Rebekah Garner
Rebekah, the vibrant force behind The Event Girl, embarked on her journey as an event designer at just 16. Her first big gig - a charity fashion show that raised an impressive $10,000 - sparked a passion that has driven her ever since. The seed for her career was planted at a family reunion when a suggestion from her sister turned her natural talent into a professional pursuit.
Her business, originally called Mad Hatter's, evolved into The Event Girl in 2018, making a shift towards a wider, more diverse clientele. Rebekah’s early approach was bold and imaginative, showcasing her boundless creativity and big-picture thinking. She thrives on dreaming up grand visions and then, with a mix of creativity and determination, bringing them to life.
Rebekah’s process begins with ambitious ideas that are refined into precise details, allowing her to turn the impossible into reality. This method secured her region a vital $3 million approval for a significant parliamentary event and has made her a go-to for those seeking events that defy the ordinary. Her relentless drive sets her apart, transforming a client’s vague concept into a flawless, spectacular event while managing last-minute challenges with ease. Rebekah’s talent lies in understanding what her clients need, even when they can’t fully express it, and ensuring each event uniquely reflects their brand and vision.

Jen, a Senior Event Designer at The Event Girl, leverages her creativity and expertise to craft unique and memorable events. From simple enhancements to fully customised themes, she ensures each event aligns seamlessly with the client’s vision. She prioritises understanding clients’ goals to deliver tailored, one-of-a-kind designs. Through comprehensive communication and detailed examples, she maintains alignment with their expectations.
Her inspiration stems from both online research and personal experiences, allowing her to infuse unique elements into each event. Jen thrives on complex projects, finding great fulfilment in seeing client satisfaction, which highlights her adaptability and innovation under pressure. While she embraces trends, Jen balances them with timeless elegance, always prioritising client preferences for a personal touch.
Jen’s advice for aspiring designers is to nurture creativity, stay organised, and be ready for hard work - a blend of imagination and practicality is essential. Beyond work, she enjoys photography, sweet treats, and time with her daughters and dogs, staying inspired by life’s small moments.
